Candice Adams, PhD, is a computer scientist and educator whose research and teaching are grounded in a strong commitment to data-driven decisions, artificial intelligence, and user-centered design. She earned her PhD in Computer Science from Auburn University, where her dissertation investigated human-computer interaction, usability evaluation, and the design of learning management systems to promote increased student engagement and interaction. Dr. Adams also holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Software Engineering from Auburn University. Her academic work reflects a focus on the development of intelligent, data-driven technologies that improve user experience and decision making.

For more than 13 years, Candice has worked as a Computer Scientist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), applying artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and data science to advance public health. Her work supported data modernization and infrastructure, with a focus on improving data access and public health outcomes. She is also certified project management professional and has completed advanced data science training through the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

In parallel with her career as a Computer Scientist, Candice has spent over a decade teaching as an adjunct professor at Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU). She has served as a Faculty Team Lead and Faculty Advisory Board member, teaching courses in computer science, IT, and cybersecurity with a focus on real-world applications. Her research interests include AI, educational technology, and data science. She has presented on topics such as multiple imputation and software engineering best practices. A recipient of several federal and teaching awards, Candice is dedicated to mentoring students and early-career professionals in data science and tech.
