Cary Staples is a Professor of Design at the UT School of Design and Co-Founder of the APP.FARM, an interdisciplinary collaboration studio synthesizing design, data and technology. Her projects include collaborations with: Modern + Foreign Languages + Literatures (French), the College of Education (Autistic Learners), Microbiology (Bio remediation), an NSF grant project to develop outreach experiences with Ecology + Evolutionary Biology (Bio Diversity) using VR, a computer game exploring succession on Mount Saint Helens and the behaviors of nesting birds to mitigate heat. Professor Staples is interested in creating experiences to help communicate complex ideas and data to audiences that may facilitate understanding and affect change.
