Student Success Coordinator

Dana Richey is the Student Success Coordinator at the College of Emerging and Collaborative Studies. After two years serving as the Event Coordinator for CECS, Dana transitioned into her current role, where she supports student engagement, retention, and overall success. Prior to joining CECS, she held positions of increasing responsibility, including Enrollment Specialist and Program Assessment Coordinator at Black Hills State University in South Dakota. Her professional background also includes experience as a Protocol and Events Specialist, Executive Assistant, Sales and Training Manager, and Store Manager. Dana’s career reflects a high degree of adaptability, shaped in part by the geographical demands of military life.

Following her distinguished service in the United States Air Force, Dana pursued her academic goals, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports and Health Sciences with a concentration in Pre-Sports Medicine from American Military University. Her years of military service were marked by honor and dedication, including deployments to Uzbekistan, Qatar, the Horn of Africa, and Afghanistan. Her hobbies include painting, reading, gardening, fishing, traveling, and enjoying the great outdoors. Originally from Florida, Dana now proudly calls Grainger County, Tennessee home, where she lives with her two sons and their chocolate Labrador.
