Elizabeth Hughes is an Applied Artificial Intelligence major at CECS with minors in Human-Intelligent Systems Interaction and Business Administration. She serves on the CECS Advisory Council and values her role as an influential leader, participant, and listener within the college’s close-knit and collaborative community.
Elizabeth is also active in the AI Vols club and the Society of Women Engineers, and she enjoys the project-based structure of CECS courses—especially AI 401, which allows her to dive deeper into hands-on research. Her undergraduate research explores how AI and computer vision systems support quality control in manufacturing, particularly within the automotive industry.
After graduation, Elizabeth hopes to pursue a PhD, in which she plans to study AI teaming and interaction in manufacturing environments. Outside of academics, she enjoys staying active and is a proud cat enthusiast who loves spending time with her cat.
