Jonathan Gardin is a CECS student and member of the Student Advisory Council, double majoring in Applied Cybersecurity and Japanese Studies. Drawn to CECS for its academic freedom and flexibility, he values the chance to pursue transdisciplinary learning and become a more well-rounded student. His interest in cybersecurity grew after exploring the field and learning about the Colonial Pipeline ransomware attack and how incidents like it can be prevented. On campus, Jonathan is involved with the Vols Japanese Culture Association, the Martial Arts Club, and the Russian Language and Culture Club. He also enjoys volunteering, including at a small farmers market in his hometown.
