Sena Sahin, PhD, is an Assistant (Teaching) Professor beginning in Spring 2027. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Her research focuses on human-centered security and privacy, cybersecurity governance, security policy and regulation, and the design and evaluation of effective security guidance. Her work examines how cybersecurity policies, standards, and recommendations are interpreted and implemented in real-world settings, with applications spanning organizational security, authentication, critical infrastructure, and industrial control systems. She teaches and develops courses in cybersecurity policy, human factors in security, security and privacy, and related cybersecurity topics. Dr. Sahin’s research has been published at leading security venues, including IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy, ACM CCS, and NDSS, and her work has received an ACM CCS Distinguished Paper Award. She is passionate about interdisciplinary research, evidence-based cybersecurity practice, and mentoring students.
