October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month

Careers in cybersecurity are some of the fastest growing occupations, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. Many organizations face the challenge of finding the right people with the right education to fill these jobs.

To meet that need, the UT College of Emerging and Collaborative Studies offers several academic pathways in applied cybersecurity to all UT students. These pathways provide multiple opportunities for learners to gain valuable knowledge, highly sought-after skills, and hands-on experience in this emerging field. Through our applied cybersecurity undergraduate degree program, minor and certificate, students can chart their own path in deciding whether to become a cybersecurity expert or simply learn the foundational knowledge to be competitive in the job market post-graduation.

Throughout the month, UT System’s OneIT, which consists of the Office of Innovative Technologies and the Department of Technology Solutions, and CECS are collaborating to bring weekly cybersecurity updates to faculty, staff and students systemwide. You can learn the WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, WHY, AND HOW of cybersecurity each week of October by following along at tiny.utk.edu/CAM.
